Together We Rise: Garlic Scapes & Join Our U-Pick Party!
with invitations to receive seeds, seed garlic & a sunset cruise 💛
Such Abundance, Fruition Family!
As we honor and celebrate Juneteenth, we're also preparing for our annual
Together We Rise: Garlic & Shallot Scape U-Pick!
Whether you'd love 20 or 200+ garlic and shallot scapes to savor (pickles or pesto, anyone?!!), bring a bag, your family & friends to join us Monday, June 23rd at 6 pm.
At 6:30 we’ll share a potluck supper and ohhhhh Friends:
Even if bringing food to share is just beyond possible, please do join us: your hunger for community and connection is your greatest offering 💛
All are welcome and though we could say this is 'free,' we invite you to savor this as a gift, that we all may be nourished by. And may we continue nourishing - gifting! - the world in ways only we can:
And did you know?
We can gently pull rather than snap garlic scapes,
often releasing 8+ inches of tender, scrumptious scape
beneath where they emerge from their leaves!
It took me lots of practice to become consistent at patiently lifting rather than snapping scapes. Perhaps there’s no better place to practice than Fruition at our annual scape u-pick! No matter who you are & where you are, here’s a lil video sharing how & enjoy:
And ohhhhh, in addition to sunset walks surrounded by fireflies, here is another favorite flavor of June:
Let us gift you garlic, Friends!
Depending when our Italy Hill Giant Ivory garlic fully matures, we’ll be lifting and gifting garlic together either
Saturday, July 19th (stay for Shakespeare on the farm in the evening!) or Sunday, July 27th from 10 to 4
10 am: lift & cure garlic together
noon: join our potluck ~ bring a dish to pass as brings ease & joy
3:30 to 4 pm: garlic gifting ceremony
This will be the only day we’ll be gifting seed garlic & you’ll bring it home fresh, so be prepared to cure them well to plant in fall and nourish us all for generations to come! You’ll find so many details to surround you with abundance in our free online course
as well as in our 7-page Garlic Growing Guide for all of us who prefer written instructions 💛
What can we sow now?
So(w) much!
And Friends, join us as we gift seeds & sing songs on the water:
Free Sunset Cruise on Cayuga Lake!
Wednesday, July 9 from 7 to 9:30 pm
Water is Life: Seeds & Songs of Resilience
Join us, Friends! We'll be sharing seeds and singing songs as we cultivate community as well as resilience together. If you'd love to bring a poem, song or other gift to share with us all, please do!
We’re so grateful for our friends at Discover Cayuga Lake cruises for offering incredible community cruises as gifts for us all, stay tuned for the registration link soon💛
And thank you to the dozens of people who have joined us already in June!
Work Party: Becoming Good Soil Together
all Mondays in June | 10 to 5 pm | at Fruition Seeds
Bring your family and friends as we dig into meaningful work on the farm together! We'll share a diversity of activities honoring the many ways we all can learn, laugh and be of service together. Arrive / depart anytime and come ready to be comfortable in changing weather. Bring a dairy-free potluck lunch offering as well as a bag to bring home abundance from the farm 💛
If you're reasonably regional and would love to receive lil text invitations to (un)official work parties and abundance sharing here on the farm, send a sweet ask of an email to petra (at) fruitionseeds.com with your phone number. See you soon!
And look who’s opening!
One of the many seeds we’re growing to share with us all is Ziar’s Breadseed Poppy and ohhhhh they’re in full glorious flower right now as
we cultivate gift economy together!
Have you seen our relational, material & financial needs?
Take a peek🧡
And Friends, we vision a world where we all are ‘sustained’ rather than ‘paid,’ as our beloved Friend Adam Wilson so bravely articulates…
…and if you’d love to sustain our lives more directly, we’re so honored:
Together we embody the abundance we dream of.
Sow Seeds & Sing Songs,
and the Many Possibilities of Fruition

If you’ve been forwarded this email and would love to subscribe, please do and hope to see you here on the farm one day, too!

As our hearts break for so much violence, hunger and longing in the world, we are moved to tears, so grateful for this poem:
Bowing
Garlic scapes
like a group
of swans
Curl
their necks
in the garden
Heads white,
beaked
and bowing
As if
to the miracle
that makes us different
And
so very much
the same.
