Save the Date: Garlic Scapes, Seeds for Summer, Shakespeare & So Much More!
plus a song for composting shame 💛
Happy June, Friends!
As the fireflies and coyote song dance under the stars, we’d love to share seeds and so much more with you this summer. Before we tumble headlong into a flurry of invitations:
What can we sow now?
So(w) much!
We’ll be gifting seeds
throughout the summer
at all our gatherings, so don’t be shy:
love what you sow & sow what you love!
And Friends:
Save the Date!
Whether our cups feel empty or full, there are so many ways to give, receive and amplify gifts in the world, so don’t be shy & see you soon:
Frederick Douglass Day
Saturday, June 14 | noon to 3 pm | at Bristol Valley Theater
Join us celebrating history and our shared liberatory future, Friends! Commemorating Douglass’ 1862 speech in Naples, join our potluck as Hopefully Choir serenades and Frederick is reenacted by Michael Marshall, a beloved regional force of present-day love and change. I (Petra) will reenact Emily Marks, an ardent abolitionist who brought care to her community (including hundreds of freedom seekers) and played a key role in Frederick coming to speak in Naples💛
Here’s a song we’ll sing together at Frederick Douglass Day and thank you for joining us in body and / or spirit as you’re so moved:
And speaking of singing together, we often sing as we work and ohhhhh join us in body and / or spirit:

Saving Our Seeds, Saving Ourselves:
Skills & songs for fruitful futures
August 7th to 10th at Folk Art Guild’s Craft Weekend in Middlesex, NY
What if gardens grow us more than we grow them? What if seeds save us more than we save them? With reverent curiosity, let’s cultivate our seed skills both practical and cultural to nourish both our personal and collective abundance. With gardens, fields and forests as our teachers, let’s center the wisdom of seeds, our 400 million year old ancestors and mentors.

Friends near & far!
We’re cultivating gift economy together!
Have you seen our relational, material & financial needs?
As we sow a world where we all are ‘sustained’ rather than ‘paid,’ as our beloved Friend Adam Wilson so bravely articulates…
…if you’d love to sustain our lives more directly, we’re so honored:
We are the seeds!
